Thelocactus Britt. et Rose este un gen cu plante globulare sau scurt cilindrice, cu coaste divizate in mamile, avand la varf areole alungite.
Flori divers colorate de la alb la rosu inchis.
In cultura se intalnesc mai des speciile: Thelocactus bicolor, Thelocactus hexaedrophorus, Thelocactus nidulans, Thelocactus tulensis.
